CAS Library Acquisitions Grants

Welcome to the online application for the CAS Library Acquisitions Grants for tenure-track faculty in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Before you start filling out the online form, you should have your Duck ID and password ready for log in.

Once you are logged in, you can access the application form by clicking on "Library Acquisitions Grants Application."


Requests for funding for library acquisitions from tenure-track faculty will be considered by the Dean in the context of the following elements:

1.     The item is not already in the library collection

2.     The item is a one-time purchase, not a continuing subscription

3.     Preference will be given to requests that exceed $200 as these items are less likely to be duplicated

You may also wish to consult with a library subject specialist for your discipline:


a.     Proposals of no more than 200 words should be submitted as and should identify the item(s) as thoroughly as possible (author, title, publisher or source, format, publication date, ISBN, etc.)

b.     Note where the item(s) can be purchased; a link works well for this

c.     List estimated cost

Deadline: Friday of the third week of each term: Fall, October 16, 2020; Winter, January 22, 2021; Spring, April 16, 2020.

Notification: Recipients of the CAS Library Acquisitions Award will be notified by the end of each term. CAS will send the award funding to the Libraries for purchasing.
